About the Campaign

For 126 years, Beta Alpha Chapter has been at the heart of Greek life at Indiana University. From our founding to the present, our proud history speaks for itself through high academic achievement and leadership within the University. With more than 2,500 initiates, the Beta Alpha Chapter has influenced the lives of numerous men, cultivating lasting friendships in the process. Many of our best college memories can be traced back to our Delta Tau Delta experience. While many of our alumni have gone on to successful and distinguished careers in business, engineering, technology, and countless other endeavors, the common bond of our brotherhood remains, along with our shared principles and values. Most of us can attribute our success to our undergraduate experience at the Shelter. Through Delta Tau Delta we not only learned the importance of friendship, knowledge, service, morality, and excellence, but we acquired valuable assets, which include leadership skills, organizational skills, social skills, teamwork, and character. Oftentimes, these traits have been integral to our personal success and helped make us the men we are today. Our chapter Shelter at 1431 N. Jordan Avenue is clearly the focus of undergraduate life for Delta Tau Delta. It has been a home away from home for hundreds of young men and a classroom where our brothers have learned about personal integrity, strengthening our community, and committing to a life of excellence. However, if we wish for Delta Tau Delta to continue its strong presence on the Indiana University campus, we must ensure that we are providing a safe, modern, and competitive facility. Now is the appropriate time to secure our future.

Our investment in the future of Beta Alpha will ensure the success of our chapter and will promote a legacy upon which to build an even greater brotherhood. Today, perhaps more than ever, college fraternities play a relevant role in shaping the lives of young men. Delta Tau Delta provides a small-group living environment that offers our members a solid foundation for their education and also affords opportunities for high academic achievement and the development of leadership and social skills. The undergraduate men have made a commitment to work hard in maintaining the programs and traditions that have benefited the lives of so many Delts over the years. Together with our active members, the volunteer leadership of the Beta Alpha House Corporation is committed to this major undertaking, which will allow us to renovate our Shelter and compete with other fraternities and housing options in Bloomington. This stage of our project requires assistance from a highly selective group of alumni—like you. We are working to identify brothers who have both the ability and interest to provide major assistance to the project. Remember that each of us benefited from the generosity, work, and sacrifice of those who went before us. We all enjoyed the comfort and brotherhood Beta Alpha provided during our years at Indiana University. Now it is our turn to support Beta Alpha and ensure that the same, wonderful experience is available to others. We urge your thoughtful consideration of this plan. With your support, Delta Tau Delta will continue to provide a quality living environment that supports, nurtures, and develops outstanding young men with the skills and confidence to face an ever-changing world. The commitment we make today cannot be underestimated—it will have a far-reaching effect on the lives our Beta Alpha brothers for years to come.

“I am confident the chapter has a bright future. The men of Beta Alpha plan to improve our impact in the Bloomington community through philanthropy, utilize strong recruitment to foster relationships, and create a lifelong Delt experience we can be proud of as future alumni.”
